L’artista David Mesguich, che opera prevalentemente in Francia e in Belgio, conosciuto per la sua street-art in 3D, è profondamente orgoglioso del suo ultimo lavoro. “Sono progetti come questo, che rovesciano il senso della fatalità!” Esclama. Il suo orgoglio deriva dalla straordinaria natura del suo progetto: Mesguich ha lavorato per abbellire una delle prigioni più malfamate della Francia. Lo scorso febbraio, Mesguich ha lavorato con alcuni detenuti, particolarmente fragili perché bisognosi di cure mediche e psicologiche, dipingendo due giganteschi murales, su fondali di cemento grigio e filo spinato. Il suo obiettivo era: ”mostrare ai prigionieri come il loro animo sia in grado di creare ancora cose belle e positive”. La prigione di Baumettes, a Marsiglia, è una delle più conosciute in Francia, per le condizioni disumane in cui vivono i carcerati: sovraffollamento, infestazioni di parassiti, strutture fatiscenti, alto tasso di violenza fra i detenuti.
